Top 10 Reasons to Join RKU Centre for Excellence in Digital & Social Media Marketing & Branding

Subhrajit Dutta: Assistant Professor
Centre for PR-Corporate Communication and Entrepreneurship Skills
We are experiencing a mass transition from brick-and-mortar model to a virtual model. Digital education is extremely crucial to understand and excel in this new form of communication and changing consumer preferences.

Courses on Digital and Social Media are commonplace. Many institutions in your state or in your country offer diverse courses on Digital and Social Media. Then why do you need to join the Digital & Social Media Marketing & Branding Course at RKU? Below are the top 10 reasons.

One, at RKU, we focus on the strategic piece that drives a digi-social campaign. Whether it is SEO, or SEM, or email marketing or mobile marketing, we will train you to appreciate the strategic context of happenings.

For example, if there is a change in the behavioural pattern of a defined set of audience, before suggesting the tools, you should be able to pinpoint the reason behind it, like an ace marketer. This strategic element is ignored by most digital-social training institutions.

Two, Branding will be a crucial part of our digi-social course. Understanding of a BRAND in detail, elements of branding and how digi-social medium significantly enhances a brand will be at the heart of this course.

Three, At RKU, our emphasis is on the outcome. What is the purpose of Digital marketing? What will an organization achieve out of digital marketing? We bring in the concept of Reputation Management in the Digital Marketing Domain.

Like an individual, an organization creates Reputation for itself. One of the key functions of Digital Marketing is to safeguard and protect this Reputation on a continuous basis. How? Find out at RKU.

Four, Crisis can strike anytime. When crisis engulfs a reputed organization, the ramification of the crisis is even more dramatic and threatening to the existence of the organization. However, a close observation suggests that mostly Crisis, unless an act of God, does not happen overnight.

It starts with a few issues and concerns, goes unattended over a period of time, and suddenly someday assumes the characteristics of full-blown crisis. Through Digital marketing we can identify the issues, "listen socially" and deploy our communication tools, to avoid such overwhelming crisis situations.

Five, Digital marketing is a continuation of marketing initiatives and human communications. To understand Digital Marketing fully, one must be exposed to the traditions of how communications has evolved. Digital Marketing will be the centerpiece, but associated knowledge will accompany it.

Six, Our Digital Marketing Core Curriculum will be extensive. Starting from Search Engine Optimization, Search Engine Marketing, Display Advertising, Email Marketing. Mobile marketing, Social Media Marketing, Planning and Executing Integrated Digital Marketing campaigns, Analytics and elements of Account Planning to effectively running a Digital Marketing campaign will be covered.

Seven, one of our major focus areas of this course will be developing writing and designing skills – both critical elements for you to succeed in this digi social domain.

Eight, at RKU, our Digi-Social course is experiential, meaning it will help you learn through your experience. There will be a lot of practical sessions to help you learn the intricacies of the subject.

Nine, as a creative learner, in this multidisciplinary environment, you will be able to interact with students from diverse creative backgrounds.

And Ten, we will also offer you with internships to further solidify your knowledge as you will be able to apply the skills that you learn here in your workplace.

All these, besides a picturesque campus amidst the globally renowned Ramoji Film City (RFC), a famed destination spread across 2,000 acres of land and a hotspot of industry interactions. Accomplished faculty members from prestigious institutions including MICA, FTII, ETV, Reuters, Symbiosis, NTU Singapore, with long years of rich industry experience will be mentoring you.

In you, I am looking for a deeply inquisitive mind. A mind that is eager to learn and experiment with new branding ideas. I will be happy to see you thinking most of your time on how to utilize digital media in everything that we do. See you soon at RKU!
